Our communities in the 51st district range from suburban to rural with a combination of natural features. We have two main rivers flowing through: the Shiawassee and Flint rivers. Each offer a unique aesthetic to see wildlife, deer, and even American Eagles. Many anglers use the river for sportsmanship as well.
Its incumbent on us to maintain the natural environment and to be good stewards for the next generation.
Unfortunately, policy changes in Lansing and Washington have begun that will undermine the clean waters in our rivers and lakes that we have taken for granted for so long.
As your State Representative, I will work to make sure that the State doesn't allow the Great Lakes to be polluted by oil; will work to fund programs that remove invasive species from our rivers and inland lakes; to work with local farmers to assist in funding best practices that prevent run-offs into the ditches and streams leading to our rivers.

As a former member of the Genesee County Conservation District, while I only served four months, it was amazing to understand the cooperative funding programs with our area farmers in Genesee County to allow them to become best in class.
